PREPARING YOUR TABLE
In 1976, the McGaffney’s, a West Chester Couple occupied the building and introduced the opening of Penn’s Table Restaurant. In 1997, there was a tragic fire causing the couple to temporarily close the restaurant.
It’s the fall of 1998, we’re due to be new parents in December, working our sales jobs when Anth says, “There is this little place in town we should go check out for breakfast, its for sale.” After having a bite to eat we walked home to Union Street and began to imagine how we would make it all work. So on December 22nd 1998 we took a leap of faith and purchased Penn’s Table. Anthony Jr. was born on the 27th, we quit our jobs and we opened the doors for business on February 1st. What an amazing 19 years its been for Anthony, the boys and I on the corner of Church and Gay!
In December 2017, the Lucas family purchased the restaurant from the Marion’s and began a new chapter for Penn’s Table. Although the ownership has changed over the years, the spirit, ambiance, friendly service and delicious food has never wavered. Penn’s Table Restaurant continues to embody the culture, love, friendship, strong faith, and goodwill of this great historical town.
The Lucas Family warmly welcomes you to “come have a seat at our table”.
